Lil Wayne Set to Appear in Renowned VH1 Behind the Music, Fabolous Discusses Concept behind New Album 'Loso's Way'

Lil Wayne Set to Appear in Renowned VH1 Behind the Music
New York, NY – Lil Wayne has become something of a major icon in the industry for quite some time now. Practically building a legacy took over a decade as Cash Money developed an artist that would make it to great lengths. Becoming a Platinum selling artist in one week’s time is an accomplishment that many artists dream of. After successfully taking Hip-Hop by storm, Wayne decided to venture into the Rock domain. His first Rock single, ‘Prom Queen’ took fans by surprise and became a smash hit overnight. At the same time, he also became a huge media blitz, appearing everywhere from ESPN to CBS, so what’s next then, to give him the most famous TV documentary any musician can receive, the honor of appearing in VH1’s Behind the Music. Fans will now get a vivid chance to learn more of Wayne’s past before deciding to venture into the music business and eventually signing to Cash Money.
With the many accomplishments that Wayne comprises, VH1 thought it’d be a great idea to have him grace the documented show for their forthcoming revamped season that has been in the making for a while now. Many iconic artists have graced the famous show and have received the title of legend. The first episode for the newly restored ‘Behind the Music’ will chronicle the life and times of Lil Wayne himself. VH1’s Executive Vice President of Talent and Music Programming, Robert Krim, recently spoke to MTV News about the reasons behind bringing back the iconic musician documentary series. These were his comments about the ideas and reasoning:
“We had to rethink a little bit and look at these current artists that are really big stars now, and maybe it isn't the classic rise and fall, there's the classic 'Behind the Music' arc, but in this crop we wanted to get some artists that were on top of their game now instead of looking back. And also, just because their big stars now doesn't mean they necessarily have a great 'Behind the Music' kind of story.
From our research, [Lil Wayne] certainly does. From the fact that when he was a kid he accidentally shot himself and almost died at age 12 while playing with a gun, he went through Katrina, he has [a possible stint in] jail pending. He has all the requisite drama in his life, which I think ultimately, makes for the great story. The fact that he's one of the biggest stars out there makes it the right combination that we're looking for.”
At press time, the new season has been set to air sometime in July. Keep posted to 24hourhiphop.com for the official scheduled date and time for Behind the Music: Lil Wayne. Stay tuned for the official review after the airing.
Fabolous Discusses Concept behind New Album ‘Loso’s Way’
New York, NY – The structure and creativity of an album usually puts an artist in the prospective of brainstorming that initial concept that provides inspiration to them as well as sell to the fans. Sometimes the most innovative and interesting concepts comes from that of movies that have inspired the artist in some way shape or form. Iconic lyricist Jay-Z titled his album the same as the film ‘American Gangster’ after watching a special sneak preview of the film, while many artists have used concepts from the 1983 film that Al Pacino made infamous ‘Scarface.’ With that being said, Def Jam artist, Fabolous, decided to follow the same concept as Hov with another Pacino classic, ‘Carlito’s Way,’ titling his simply ‘Loso’s Way.’
Fab recently spoke to MTV News about the concept into his upcoming fifth studio album ‘Loso’s Way’ and gave the fans a glimpse into the LP in why it is similar to that of the character Carlito Brigante. These were his comments:
“The album is so crazy, it touches on so many issues from the movie, but it still [expresses] principles that people go through every day and could relate to. That's why I chose the movie. I was watching the movie and was like, 'The stuff going on in this movie, everybody could relate to it.' Just like how dude came out of jail and was like, 'I'm not going back to jail.' Everybody feels that way on the come-out. It's the journey to do something better. When I was coming out of the 'hood, I felt I wanted to do something better, and [I put] the journey to do something better ... in this album. A lot of things have happened [since my career started]. I've gotten shot, I've gotten arrested, I've had a baby. All of these things have happened, so I wanted to put that in music form.”
If you remember the way the film pans out, Fab plans to follow the chronicles of Carlito through his music as he plans on delivering a lyrical visual through each track. One track entitled ‘Stay’ features the vocal talents of Marsha Ambrosius, where he describes becoming a father.
“That's gonna be 'Just Comin' In’ at the beginning of my joint. In my intro, I'm going in certain places and talking about things, talking about certain things that I don't think people have really heard me talk about or heard how I really feel.
“Right after that, I'm reloaded. I got a song on the album called 'Pachanga.' We say 'puh-chang-uh' on the song. That was Carlito's man, but we know at the end of the movie that was the dude who got Carlito set up to get shot. You see how friends change in due time. I got a crazy joint on the album that explains how certain things or certain friends change in your lifetime.”
At press time, Def Jam has yet to release an official release date for Fabolous’ forthcoming album, but he says it should be out between the spring and summer. His current single featuring The Dream entitled ‘Throw in the Bag’ is currently playing on radio.
50 Cent to Star in Stallone Action Flick ‘The Expendables’
Hollywood, CA – 80s and 90s go-to action star, Sylvester Stallone, has been working on an action-packed film that he has personally written and directed for the past year entitled ‘The Expendables.’ The film itself has reported to include some heavyweight stars that have made incredible action-packed films in the past and the present. According to the movie buffs on IMDB, the synopsis of the film is based around a team of mercenaries hired to undertake a mission to South America to overthrow a dictator.
Movie media outlets have recently reported that the G-Unit General has apparently signed on to replace Forest Whitaker to play the character Hale Caesar. Whitaker signed off due to schedule conflicts when the production went into a month delay. 50 Cent was personally chosen by Stallone to portray the character that Whitaker left vacant. Alongside 50, the film will also star mega actors: Mickey Rourke, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Natural Randy Couture, Eric Roberts, and Stallone himself. Dolph Lundgren, who played Ivan Drago in ‘Rocky IV,’ and Arnold Schwarzenegger have been rumored to portray lead roles in the film.
Stallone recently wrote to Ain’t It Cool News about the decision to replace Whitaker with 50. These were his comments:
The anger of the casting of 50 Cent is understandable, but not fair. A player is only as good as his coach. If a man can communicate in one medium, he can communicate in another if his strengths are brought out and he has the support of well-wishers. So, trust me, the change of Forest Whitaker to 50 Cent a.k.a. Curtis Jackson is a good one.”
At press time, filming for ‘The Expendables’ will begin on March 28 and will continue through the summer of 2009, it has been set for an early 2010 release. It has been picked up by Millennium and Nu Image Films with distribution provided by Lionsgate.

T.I. Going To Prison: Incarceration Of A SuperStar, Free TIP

On September 30th, 2008, T.I. released his wildly successful ‘Paper Trail’ to overwhelmingly positive reviews. As such hits as ‘Live Your Life’, ‘Whatever You Like’, and ‘Dead and Gone’ followed, the album served to remind us that T.I. was still, without question, one of the most powerful forces in the music industry. But while T.I. used the later half of 2008 to remind us all of his presence in the game, nothing can change the fact that we are now less that two weeks away from TIP’s upcoming incarceration which is set to take place this coming March 28th.
Flashback to October 13th, 2007, and T.I. was arrested just hours before the BET Awards and charged with two felonies; possession of three unregistered machine guns and two silencers, and possession of firearms by a convicted felon. After a delayed court appearance that finally took place in February of 2008, T.I. was eventually given one year’s sentence in jail after completing 1,000 hours of community service.
The news was shocking to some for different reasons. Some were initially surprised at the thought of the Atlanta rapper being out of the spotlight for such a long duration while at the peak of his craft while others felt that he was actually given an easy way out and were quick to state that this wasn’t the rapper’s first time being behind bars. Speaking on the matter himself, T.I. told MTV months back that ‘Presumably while I’m there I’ll be able to strategize my comeback’.
The old expression ‘You can forget about your past, but your past won’t forget about you’ seems to ring a bell when looking at this situaiton. Because for all of his recent success associated with the release of Paper Trail, reality is now fresh upon us and like it or not, the game will be without one of it’s most fresh, inovate voices for the next year. It seems to be unquestioned that T.I. will come back from this still very relavent, it just remains to be seen how he will go about his return once being released.
Wanting to get a deeper perspective on the matter, 24 Hour Hip Hop took a look at some of the busiest forums on the net and gathered the thoughts of the everyday public to see what they had to say about T.I.’s impending time behind bars. In their own words, this is what everyone is saying…

Cultfigure @ RapBasement.com…
“He’s an extremely talented dude. I don’t think he snitched on anyone. The fact of the matter is it would be public record and it would finish him. He needs to make music and be what he is, a tax paying millionaire and just take his stories from the streets and stop trying to play in them. Oil and water don’t mix!”

Realtalk @ About.com forums…
“So that pretty much means we’re not going to hear any good music coming from the south for the next year or so.”

What's it to Ya? @ RollingStone.com…
“I love his music and all, but man he’s dumb enough to fuck up that bad….he should probably go to jail for more than a year? Don’t yall agree? Oh no wait your all ignorant and fall for that MTV sympathy bullshit! What if he was some regular dude? You would be saying that he deserves everything that he has coming to him. Quit acting like you know the guy!”

Sunshine @ HipHopRoll.com
“No I don’t think he should have to do all that jail time. They are on him like he killed somebody or something. There are so many people out there that are buying automatic weapons and you don’t see them all over the news. They just want him because he’s a rapper. That’s a damn shame.”

SweetPanties @ RapBasement.com
“I Don't Think He Should Be Going To Prison Really, It’s A Damn Shame You Can't Even Defend Your Damn Self, Why Is It Only Certain People Can Have Guns To Defend Them And Not Others, They Didn't Say Shit About What Happen For That 9/11 Thing Really, And Those People Who Was Supposedly Have Done It Didn't Really Do It But Make It Look Like It Happen That Way And That’s Wrong, So They Are Being Hypocrites!!!

Winb83 @ ProjectCovo.com Forums
“What the hell? They schedule this nigga jail time like it’s a dentist appointment or something.”

Tygur @ TrapMuzik Forums…
“I think he should get off. There are people out there that do a lot worse and they still walking around. Shit there are nigz that take lives, get caught, hit the block a few dayz later. I think he should do a small punishment then keep making music from the booth.”

Nells @ Rolling Stone.com…
“He’s rich, he needs protection. He’s changed, he’ll do the time, come out, and do what he been doin’. Best of luck to T.I. on this one, I’m a T.I. fan and supporter.”

Drastik Da God @ RapWorld Forums…
“There's no way TI is gonna go to a high security prison. Homeboy will be chilling in a white jump suit, watching Judge Mathis while writing a hardcore prison joint for his next album.”

T Page @ TrapMuzik Forums…
“I think he should be given community service. In that service, he should be ordered to continue doing just what he's doing now. Changing lives. He loves that position of being able to help others. I also have traveled that road. I went to prison three times. Now I'm trying to build a future for my son and daughter. Ti doesn’t need to go to jail. He would be more effective in the community. I do have a question for u. How far is he willing to go with this life changing mission? I have something for him that would surely open the world’s eyes. His name is Prettyboybambam. A seven year old Gospel rapper/amatuer boxer/model/actor. He just needs someone with heart and faith to bring him out. Ti is the perfect person for this job. Also the timing is perfect. We are not trying to capitalize off of his position. This is opportunity to show the courts just how much he can help our youth by taking this young talented kid and pushing him to use his talent for good instead of bad while the world watch. Prettyboybambam is working on a song called Feed The Children. If Ti collab with him and put him out, I believe he would set a new mark. When a man leaves his mark, he has made difference weather it be good or bad. You can here Prettyboybambam's first single on iseecolor.com. Just search for prettyboybambam. It's called It's Gonna Get Easier. Or I can send it email if you like. Just send me an email at this email address”

Scotty’s President @ Thisis50.com…
“keep Ya head up tip that shit will be done before u know it”

Joe Johnson @ HipHopRoll.com
“He is lucky as hell IMO. As a felon in MI you would be looking at a minimum of 5 years State time not to mention the Fed stuff with the silencers and all that. Money still talks and he is lucky that he has it. My cousin is doing 5 right now for a little punk ass hand gun just because he is a felon.”

Dee @ Yahoo OMG Forums…
“People have a lot to say but haven’t lived anything close to your life. So until they have they need to just send prayers your way. Because nothing is up to us god has the last say in everything. You better believe he knows what he is doing. So stay real to what you believe in.”

LaffeyTaffey @ MediaTakeout.com…
“It's not like he hasn't been there before. What's the big deal? Everybody going to be on his jock trying to get in good and hopefully get him to listen to their lame ass raps. You know everybody and they momma is a wannabe rapper nowadays.”

PFC Njie @ Thisis50.com…
“Everybody is hatin on this guy its a damn shame, if your read and get the facts then yall would know that he didn’t turn nobody in or snitch, but ignorant people just go with the majority of what the common idiot says.”

Lenora at Yahoo OMG Forums…
“I have not seen the show, but I feel we should not judge him. Sometimes and unfortunately our past surfaces, but the moral of the story is What did I learn from this? And how can I rectify this in a positive matter. I know the soldier will be alight no matter what because of his Faith in GOD. The legal system needs to Go after these child molesters and rapists and leave TI alone!”

Latoya @ Scandalist.com Forums…
“I hope That T.I. move on to bigger and better things. I know it will be hard for him when he has to leave his family but things happen for a reason this is GOD’S way of showing him nothing last forever not even life T.I. should have known that one day this would catch up with him. Best wishes to him Tiny and their families.”

That Nigga B @ Thisis50.com…
“People acting like its a big deal that he gettin locked up, this nigga been locked up before, he gon be back and all them hatin ass fuck niggas gon be back at the stores buying his shit, going to jail is a part of being from the hood its what you do when you get out that determine whether you survived or not, G's up haters down, FREE TIP.......”

Lulu @ Scandalist forums…
“TI’s going to jail soon and we hope for the best and we look forward to seeing him get out and do something continue to do good when he get and he sad that he learn his lesson by doing wrong and straighten his life up and that’s a good thing for him and his family his son that going to miss him when he leaf and go to jail his son will miss him very much and I now that he will miss him to best of luck to TI ,and may god bless and keep your head up.”

NOHCP3 @ InsideHoops.com…
“Seeing that he’s been to jail before hell be okay. His career will be fine. For some reason southern rappers get bigger when they get out of jail if their sentence is short. SEE GUCCI MANE…He seems like he’s growing up.. with some of his new songs and the TV show.”

Chris Brown Feeling Suicidal? Soulja Boy Gay?

Chris Brown Suicidal?

This is one that I was waiting for. Chris Brown has been in the middle of a shit storm ever since Grammy night. The boy is facing cases, public out lash and is losing millions in performances and endorsement deals lost by the whole debacle. He has been pretty quiet and low key as well with only a handful of pics surfacing of him mainly driving around staring off into space.

Well now word is going around that this whole ordeal is taking a serious toll on the young boy. Chris has never felt this kind of rejection and overall hate throughout his whole life and people close to him are getting worried. Friends and close associates say Chris stays in his bedroom at his LA estate most of the day and night and is starting to talk crazy. I am hearing that Chris has been saying that he wants to “escape it all” and “fade away”. This is scaring people close to him, including his mother who is urging him to get out and seek some type of counseling or therapy.

Things have not looked good for this guy for quite a while but hopefully they aren’t that bad that he would do himself in! Suicide is never the answer for any problem. Although I am curious, I wonder which way he would do it…? Just a sick thought…

More Soulja Boy Is Gay Rumors?

Wow. So many rumors come out about Soulja Boy being a meat lover that it really does make you wonder… Gay sex tapes supposedly floating around, video blog allegations from former co workers, random fans saying they let him tap it, it just goes on and on. Who knows if all these weirdo guys are just haters or actually have something to tell…? Well now somebody else is alluding to the fact that Soulja is a little off and it’s somebody we all know and lust!

Meagan Good and SB supposedly had a little thing going on earlier in the year. However while they have reportedly stopped talking, recently the two got into a heated exchange over Twitter in which Meagan called out SB once again! Peep an excerpt from the convo below:

Ouch! Getting called out by a world renowned bad chick? It doesn’t get much worse than that. It makes you wonder though, SB said he didn’t want her. I can’t imagine why not? Maybe that’s why him and Arab are so close? Hey this is just speculation people! Do you think Soulja Boy is gay or is this just more hateful bullshit on the young boy?

Mya Denies Gucci Rumors!
Last post we reported that Mya and Gucci Mane have been seeing each other lately and are rumored to be an item. The rumors started after Mya was seen cuddling up wit Gucci at his welcome home party and took off from there with the random sightings of the two. However despite all this Mya and her team have released a statement denying the relationship. Peep the official release below sent out earlier:

"Gucci and I are friends and he is on one of my new songs soon to be released. That’s why I was in Atlanta this weekend – celebrating his return and recording our new collaboration. To our friends, fans, and supporters – thank you for your concern and I apologize for the inconvenience of having to deal with these bogus rumors."
Uh-huh. We’ll have to see on this one, we ain’t letting ya’ll off the hook this easy. This is what everyone says, “Were just friends!” Remember this is even what Jay and B said along with Chris and Rihanna. Well we all saw where those ‘friendships’ led. One to the chapel and one to the courthouse.
